Polly & Me

An Intimate Family Wedding

Towards the end of last year, my brother married his missus of 8 years, who happens to also be one of my closest friends.

It was always going to be an incredible wedding, Rebecca has the most amazing taste and my brother lets her crack on with it. Their house is TO DIE FOR. To have a little nosey at their interior pop over to Rebecca's Instagram for some photos.

When they asked me to help create a bit of magic for their day I was so excited. They were happy for me run wild with bits that would go with the amazing pieces Rebecca had chose and made for the day.

It was always going to be a small wedding, neither of them liking being the centre of attention (yes, they hate me for doing this blog), so an outdoor wedding in Rebecca's Grandparents garden followed by one heck of a party was the way to go.

The ceremony was curated by Jo from My Perfect Ceremony who wrote and did just that - the most bloomin' perfect ceremony for those two. I cried like a ruddy child.

The party was held in the aptly named Party Room at the top of Rebecca's Grandparents Garden. It's a wonderful room built by Rebecca's Grandad, Jim who loves to save everything... doors, tables, dressers, pews, everything! SO this room was built using just a smidge of Jim's collection, which makes it the most personal space.
My husband made an appearance at this point to get the party started (just after I did a rather tipsy, teary speech which we shall NOT talk about). The Luke Whittemore Band did a brilliant job of getting everyone dancing.

All the decor was done by the bride herself, including the flowers!

I provided quite a few goodies on the day - scrolls, laser cut golden signage, a huge 'best day ever' backdrop, hand written food labels and I even wrote on the window as an alternative to those black bird stickers to stop folk walking into it.

The wonderful naked cake and macarons were by the even more wonderful Nat from Yummy Little Cakes. As always they tasted incredible!

The dress! £20 from eBay. I KNOW. What a stunner, and it suited Rebecca perfectly and went so well with Andrew's suit which was a Harris Tweed beauty.

And who better to photograph all this? Ed Brown, I know right, like it couldn't have got better!

Enjoy!
